Dear all – please offer a warm welcome to our latest Terrier SOS adoptable. The eagle eyed amongst you will notice he is not a terrier – he is in fact a large Polar Bear. We are making him an Honorary Terrier. He was brought to the UK by a Romanian Rescue – and sadly his current home cannot manage him due to allergies. The original rescue are no longer able to help or meet his needs – and we agreed to help.
We have done a bit of private investigation and we feel he is a very rare breed called a Slovensky Cuvac (pronounced Chew Votch) He is the right size, characteristics and needs…..
* He loves the outdoors, pottering around and watching what goes on around him. He is great in all weather except rain!
* He loves to chase small animals and dig for mice. He is a very happy digger
* He is protective of his family … a natural instinct in this shepherd breed. He loves human company and is always happy to be by your side.
* He has no problems with noises from daily living (indoor and out)
* He loves his meal times, will happily lay outside chewing his bone and then fall asleep with his chin on it.
* He has no separation anxiety and is 100% house trained
* He needs space indoors and outside. He would thrive in a semi rural or rural environment where he has freedom. Definitely not suitable for a flat
* He has a huge double coat and he moults a lot. He will need daily brushing to keep his coat in tip top condition.
*He has a lovely temperament – he does react to some joggers and bikes every so often – but he has improved whilst in foster.
* He is a big strong dog – he is over 40 kilos
* He needs careful introduction to new people , i.e visitors (we are working with this – but it has been put on hold due to Covid restrictions)
*He is fine with bigger dogs – not so keen on small barky dogs
He is currently in foster in Norfolk and we really need help getting him seen – he will make a perfect dog for the right family. So please welcome Blake … the Honourary Terrier of Terrier SOS
He is about 5 years old, neutered, fully vaccinated and has his passport
