Cassie – Fox Terrier Cross – Rehomed

This is the delightful Cassie – approx 10 years old.  She has been with us too long – she is one of our long termers, and we can’t understand why!

She likes people and is constantly wagging her tail and wants to meet and greet. Cassie does not want to live with another dog, but she is fine walking past them/ being around them provided they give her space.  She would suit a calm – semi-rural environment.  She likes her walks, but is justas happy cuddly on the sofa with you.

She is such a delight and the volunteers adore her and she always puts a smile on their face – she is a treasure and her forever family will get a gem.

She is very hunting-driven – so would need a secure garden and exit management. She could not live with small furries or hens. We feel she would blossom quickly in the right home. She is ready for love, in the right terrier experienced home we think she will be a fantastic companion. And whatever you give her – she will reward you a million times over. Every dog deserves a chance, and none more so than Cassie.

She is in Norfolk and ready for her forever home. Vaccinated, neutered, passported. No cats and small furries. Children: 10+

Queen Victoria – Lurcher Terrier Mix – Rehomed

UPDATE – 11 December – Queen Victoria is one of our longer termers – and she should not be.  She is loving and gentle and one of the kindest souls.  She travels well in the car, loves her trips to the groomers, loves a potter in the garden and just hanging out with her human family.  She is now approaching 11 years old and has been in kennels too long.  We are looking for a retirement home for her – and cannot imagine a better Christmas gift than finding her a forever home.  She has Leishmania but she has tested negative for several years and is not on any medication.  She will need to be monitored and We will provide any family the support needed – just need a warm home and heart for her.

Victoria is terrier cross, abandoned by her owners and began living in a Spanish ravine.

She has lived in that ravine for years – the people of the nearby village were never able to catch her.  They said she lived there for 4/5 years – eventually they did manage to catch her – she had many litters over the years – she was very shy, she had little contact with people – and her faith and trust in people was shaken – we have no idea what horrors she has seen but we know she is a smart dog for having survived so long out there.

She is a black dog, she is shy of people, but after visiting several times – she started waiting for her volunteer humans at the front of the kennel…

Victoria started her rehabilitation in Spain last year, and she has been progressing really well.  She came to the UK in April, she is positive for Leishmania, She has no symptoms of the Leish and it is inactive.  She is on a daily medication to help keep the Leish inactive.

She’s a senior lady, around 8 or 9 years old,  she is approx 15/18 kilos – about knee high.  She is a real sweetheart – perfectly fine with other dogs and has tested well with cats (could live with dog savvy cats) She is currently in kennels in Norfolk.

She has been let down by people, it almost cost her life – could you be the person that shows Victoria that she is loved?

UPDATE: April 2019 :

We work with our dogs and are always introducing them to new things.  Queen Vic loves visiting our volunteers and she loves her scent activity games – she always asks to go in and she is straight looking for her chicken foot (one of her favourite treats).  She is super bright and has gained so much confidence.  She is still wary of strangers, but she soon learns they mean no harm and she comes for a gentle neck rub.  She has the sweetest eyes and we really think she will make the perfect companion.

Ideally we are looking for a family that will take life at her pace,  a really calm life without too much going on.  She doesn’t need to go for long walks – she needs a good garden and the new family to keep her brain entertained.  She will help you in the garden, she will be by your side watching TV, she will help you in the kitchen … a little too much (she does love her food!)

Could you be that special home for her?  We know that once she finds her family – she will blossom

Pippa – WFT – Rehomed

UK-based Pippa is an older girl (10yrs old) – still full of life and bounce.

Her owner passed away and no one else in the family were able to take her. So she sat in kennels, and we were asked to help.

She is typically terrier, likes a good sniff, can be aloof, not keen on all dogs, and pretty much likes life on her own terms. Sound familiar? If you love terriers, this is a pretty familiar story!

Pippa does have a skin complaint and will need to stick to her diet. So any prospective home will agree to that.

She is a UK dog – so although vaccinated, spayed and so on – she will not have a passport. If you are interested please fill in our form below

Remember: Children: 10+, no cats or small furries.  Pippa is best rehomed as an only dog, though ignores other dogs out on walks.

Chouquette & Donnie – Wire Fox Terriers

Chouquette was used for hunting and left abandoned. She came to the UK and was so very frightened of people and sounds and pretty much anything. We needed her to go somewhere safe until we could arrange a foster for her that could help her adjust to modern life. We work with Fox Terrier Rescue in the UK, and they kindly said they would help us and took Chouquette into their kennels, and something very amazing happened.

Chouquette became a companion and a Big Sister to a very frightened boy in rescue: Donnie. before Chouquette , Donnie wouldn’t interact or play with anyone and was so afraid of people. Both dogs had such a difficult start to life – we feel they bonded and are each others strength.

So the two must be adopted together. Chouquette is about 12 and Donnie is 9. They will both need a home that will be a quiet retirement home. They would do well in a semi rural or rural home that has a nice large secure garden. They can spend their days playing in the garden, and cuddling with their family at night. Chouquette is the braver of the two and we know that Donnie will follow her lead. Chouquette is a Fox terrier Cross and Donnie is a Wire Fox Terrier

They can’t live with young children or small furries. They are currently in Norfolk, and the prospective family would be expected to be able to visit a few times before adoption – this will allow the dogs to get use to you and make their transition far less stressful for them.

They are dog friendly, and of course people friendly – but they need time and patience – they are the sweetest pair and just deserve to be living in a forever home.

Both are vaccinated, neutered and ready for their home. Chouquette has a passport, Donnie does not.  Download & complete the TerrierSOSQuestionnaire2017 to give Chouquette and Donnie a loving retirement.

Yoko – Welsh Terrier Mix – Rehomed

We were asked to help an ‘Airedale’ in France – he had been found wandering – they had contacted the owner on the microchip and he said he had given the dog to someone else – and did not want him back – the new owner didn’t want him – so he was in the pound.

Yoko is an older male (about 9).  We were asked as his last chance, and we said yes.  We were told he was an Airedale but when the Transport Van arrived and out popped this little dog, we knew he was more Welsh Terrier than Airedale due to his size!  Welsh Terriers are often mistaken for miniature Airedales (as their owners will agree!) but they’re a very different terrier indeed!  We believe Yoko is an Airedale / Welsh mix.

Yoko is a loving and fun boy, but he doesn’t like other dogs – and being in kennels is not ideal for him – he has been moved to a quieter environment in Norfolk and is working with a trainer to deal with his dog-dog frustrations. He deserves a foster / adoptive home. He is a bright, loving dog, he likes people and really would need some time on his own. He is 9 and is looking for a retirement home. As he is medium sized, he is more manageable with his dog-dog issues and we would work with any prospective family to ensure a plan was in place.  He walks well on a lead, travels well in a car and loves people!

Can you give this boy a lifeline?
