Now if you’ve been following us for a while you may well be familiar with this beautiful girl. Kika is our longest stayer, often over looked Kika has been with us for over 6 years. There have been limited applications for Kika but for one reason or another they haven’t worked out but we can assure you it’s not due to lack of effort.

Kika recently went in to foster, in a child free home and has made friends with the resident dogs.

On walks she has shown herself to be trustworthy and has excellent recall , especially if she knows you have tasty treats. Kika is friendly and likes saying hello to everyone, she can be a frustrated greeter when on lead but you can occupy her with treats and reassurance as people or dogs go past.

Kika loves to be outside but she equally enjoys cuddles on the sofa. She’s really settled in to family life and wants to be involved, she enjoys being near you wether it be if you’re cooking (did we mention she loves food?!), gardening or simply relaxing reading or watching telly etc. Kika does have separation anxiety which will need to be managed and following our training methods you will eventually be able to leave her for short periods of time. Kika travels well in the car and doesn’t suffer from car sickness.

Speaking to Kika’s foster family it’s clear she has made herself at home and is enjoying a quiet family life. They are teaching her about the outside world and helping her to adapt to life outside of kennels. She is affectionate and thoughtful, watching and learning from both the resident dogs and her humans.

With Kika you will have a devoted companion, she enjoys affection, loves company and relishes walks. She wants to please and is a quick learner, she’ll have you trained in no time!
We feel she will be suited to a semi rural life where she gets to go on country walks away from the hustle and bustle of busy towns. Kika can live on her own or equally after introductions can live with other dogs.

This is the beautiful Kika. Kika was one of the many dogs abandoned in Spain – she ended up in the same perrera as Lolo. Time was not on her side – she is a larger (15 kilo) cross – and she ran out of time – they needed to clear kennels and she would be the next to go. I had been asked if we could help her several times – and we said we were unable – but I got a final message asking if I could just try and squeeze her in – if we said No – Kika would lose her life – it is really that simple.

We have never regretted saving a dog – and they deserve a loving family and a chance to get to shine. Could you be Kika’s Guardian Angel? She is one of our longest stay dogs and we cannot understand why, she has so much to offer and is so much fun.

Kika is 4 years old – she is a female cross – we arent sure but think Bull Terrier / Collie Cross – she is a bit larger that a fox terrier – she is a very loving girl and she needs a family that has the time and commitment to her.

Kika has all the Collie traits – quick brain, busy brain, active brain. She would do well at anything that requires her to work her intellect. She loves to be busy doing things and would make a wonderful Agility or Scent dog. If you keep her brain busy she will follow you to the ends of the earth. So if you are an active person that is looking for a companion dog – then this is the girl for you! Whatever you put in – she will return 100 fold! She has a natural retrieve instinct and she wants to interact with you. She is very treat orientated – and she can count. If you put four treats in your pocket – and give her three – she knows you have one left in your pocket – and will not leave until sums add up!

She also has the Bull Terrier trait of being all muscle and she has strength – so can be a bit of a bulldozer. We love her enthusiasm and we love her forward momentum – but because of this we cant rehome her with small children and people that may be human skittles.

Whoever adopts Kika must be prepared to commit to her.

Kika has severe separation anxiety. She will bark while alone , pace and so on. Even popping to the shops for 5 minutes, going into the office once or twice a week for an hour or two will not work. Any prospective family should be prepared to work with us to help her gradually build up the time she can manage to be alone.

She is in Norfolk – she is speyed, vaccinated, passported and health checked. She cannot live with young children or small furries.

Mr. Roo – Airedale Terrier – Rehomed

This is our wonderful Roo, a gorgeous 7 year old Airedale boy. He is a typical Airedale and has a wonderful enthusiasm for life and a sweet temperament. Roo came to us as an emergency. His owner passed away, and the family were leaving him all day in a cellar. He was not coping and the family decided to put him to sleep. A volunteer begged them to give them a few days to find an option – and we were called and we stepped in and he has gone into foster in Norfolk

We do not want to focus on his past – but it has affected him and we are slowly helping build his confidence and giving him guidance so he can enjoy life to the full. Roo is 7 years old, very enthusiastic – but any loud sounds/bangs sends him running. He startles quite easy, and is slowly building trust in his foster – in time he will understand that his family is there to protect him and care for him. He is worried about being left and will need very patient understanding – we feel he will eventually be able to be left – but this will take time – and trust and work.

Roo has no problem with other dogs – but he gets very excited indoors and will push limits. As he will require a family that puts their focus on him – we feel it would be better if he was an only dog.

He walks well on lead, travels well in the car, loves playing, is sweet and cheeky as any proper Airedale should be. Roo doesnt need any training ,but he will need guidance and a family that has the time and patience to help him findhis faith in people again.

Foxy Gryffin – Wire Fox Terrier – On Hold

Update – Aug 2021 – Foxy’s rehoming has been put on Hold – we are rearranging his current situation so we can have him work with a behaviourist on a more regular basis – we will update when we feel he may be ready.

This is the wonderful Foxy Gryffin – he is a one year old male wire fox terrier that has just become the newest member of the Terrier SOS family.

He was signed over to the perrera with the right to euthanise immediately. Our wonderful volunteers stepped in, and he is now safe in kennels in Spain.

He is still a puppy – and so will need a terrier experienced family – he is fun, happy and energetic – he just needs to learn to manage that energy. Foxy Gryffin has arrived in the UK and is currently in kennels in Norfolk. He is a dog that has had no guidance and is very excitable and we are working with a Behaviourist helping him calm himself and also learn some boundaries. As an example, we manage to have him calm, but you get up – he starts bouncing on the sofa, or leaps on your toes to have a nibble – so we have to go back to getting him calm. We are managing to do this, and we can get him to keep four paws on the floor. So we are looking for a family that will LISTEN to us and will LISTEN to our behaviourist. Because of this we will place priorities on families in the South East – they would need to come and spend time with us and Foxy G. He is the G Man – and a great boy – he is rocket man and will need a family that will keep him on the earth

We are looking for a Terrier experienced family that has time and patience to help him make the transition to ‘pet’. He is smart, a fast learner and really up for anything. He now needs a home that will see the ‘diamond in the rough’ put the work in continuing to help him find his boundaries

Zack – Welsh Terrier – Rehomed

This is the delightful Zack. Another dog that was abandoned for no other reason than he was 10 and the family didn’t want him anymore. He found himself at the perrera, the family signed the form that said he could be euthanised immediately – he had outlived his purpose….One of our lovely volunteers in Spain sent us a message and he became a Terrier SOS dog!

Zack is a 10 year old Welsh Terrier – he was a pet – so should be use to life in a home. The volunteers at the kennels in Spain say he is fun and cheeky (typical Welshie). We are awaiting the Blood tests and will update the website.

He has been fine with female dogs and calm males. He is fine with people, but untested with small furries

He is neutered, fully vaccinated, has his passport and will be ready to travel shortly.

He is currently safe in private kennels in Spain

Pepe Spark – Wire Fox Terrier – Rehomed

This lovely boy was abandoned in an open field, and he was living by the bins, scavenging what he could. A call went out for help – and luckily Terrier SOS had volunteers in the area and he was taken to safety in a loving foster home. He was in a terrible state – and we feel he had been living rough for some time. But we know he was a pet at some stage, as he took to living in the home quite easily!

We are told he is 7/8 years old – but that is an estimate – he acts more like he is 3/4 – He is a typical fox terrier – full of life and mischief. He is fine with other dogs with proper introductions. He lived in foster in Spain with several dogs and did well.

He is currently being fostered in Suffolk

Pepe is neutered, fully vaccinated, has a passport, and blood tested.
