This is a gorgeous boy – although only about a year old – it seems like he may have a bit of growing left to do – his paws and head seem too large for his body. And accordingly, so is his heart – this boy is a real softee and just wants to be with people and getting cuddles.
He is currently fostered in Dorset and lives happily with his patterdale foster sister, this is what the family has to say:
“If you’re looking for a loyal loving companion who is always pleased to see you then you couldn’t find better than Perri. He’s such a charming boy, everyone who meets him can’t fail to fall for his deep brown eyes and beautiful face. He has settled in well with us here, quickly picking up on the routine and making firm friends with out resident pooch Pootle. They spend lots of time playing tug together or chasing balls when out at the park. Perri has good recall but is very keen to meet and greet all the dogs whilst out so can suffer from selective deafness, he always comes back just not as quickly as you’d like. We are currently training him with a whistle to help improve his speed!
The biggest issue with Perri is that he’s a chewer. We have combatted this with kongs, antlers and rope toys which has helped massively. Whilst you are at home with him it doesn’t happen but when you leave him he will chew on mostly cloth items like doorstops, dog beds etc. When leaving him for any period of time we fill a Kong with treats and give him a rope toy. Since doing this we have had no accidents, nothing that shouldn’t be chewed has suffered and he isn’t even bothered by the post coming through the door!Perri is very affectionate and is always looking for someone willing to rub his tummy or behind the ears nudging your hand when you haven’t done enough. He’s a gentle soul and doesn’t make a lot of noise or take up much room even though he’s a lab size dog. Sleeping is one of his most favourite pastimes or finding sun puddles in the garden. He’s great when you’re out and about and will settle easily if you decide to stop for a drink or bite to eat. Perri travels well in the car and happily jumps up into the boot or sit on the back seat with a harness.
You will never be lonely with Perri and when out walking you will get let’s of admiring glances and ooo’s and ahh’s, people can’t comment enough on how cute he is. Perri has never shown any thing but love towards other dogs, children and us. He is truly remarkable and deserves his own family who can shower him with the love and affection he deserves.”

He has St Bernard type hound like features and eyes that melt you in one look. Although larger than some of our other dogs, he is a gentle boy and better tempered than some of the smaller terriers!
He came from Spain – his original family were unable to care for him or his pal, Rex. They were either being chained in the garden or left to their own devices at risk of being hit by a vehicle. Perri use to go and meet the school bus and make sure the daughter got home safe, as the mother was too busy or not able to go. He surely deserves a home that will realise they have the greatest friend they have ever known?
He is neutered, fully vaccinated – he would be fine with children over 10 – at 24 kilos he is the size of a springer spanier or lab.
