Like many rescues – we are at capacity for dogs we can take under the rescue wing. so we work with families – to keep their dogs in their home until we can find a suitable foster or adoptive home. We were contacted about this little girl – this is the Wonderful Wilma
She is a little dog with a big personality. She has lots of wonderful typical terrier traits and some not so wonderful ones. She loves people, loves a cuddle, walks well on lead, travels well in car, house trained and can be left for short periods. BUT…she has shown resource guarding, she has also had moments of jumping up and grabbing at clothing – she may argue with you and might let you know she doesn’t agree with you – this will need a home that understands and will work with us to manage these behaviours.
we have a plan for any future home but we really need people that will work with us and understand the breed. These dogs are not for the feint hearted as a person that has shared a life with a Welsh Terrier – they are very formidable dogs – but amazing companions. In the right home she will blossom – and we really cannot bring her into rescue and put her in kennels – we would really hope we can find a foster home that will help us – we know it is a tough ask but we have done it before and hope to again….So please if you can open your heart and home to a Wonderful Welsh Terrier – please get in touch and read our FAQ page and complete a Rehoming Questionnaire
She cannot live with children, and best as an only dog in her home (she mixes well outside the home). She is 2 years old , spayed – and up to date with vaccinations
