Another lovely spaniard – Berni has arrived to the UK. We pulled him from another horrible killing station. He is one of Spain’s many strays and abandoned dogs. We got him ready to travel (He had to be operated on for a Hernia and treated for Erlichia) – he got the all clear and he is now fostered in London.
What his foster says: Berni is a lovely dog, He is dog friendly but can be a bit wary of bigger dogs. Needs to learn some basic urban dog skills – like walking on lead, getting used to noises, and not eating everything he finds on the ground!
We think he is a cross between a Fox terrier and a Petit Griffon Vendeen. He is definitely a scent hound and cannot live with small furries. He has a stumpy tail – so he is part of the wiggle bum brigade.
Travels well in the car, and has not seemed bothered by fireworks thankfully. We are still assessing him and will keep the site updated.
He loves people – and is ready for a home filled with love and TLC
Children: age 10 +
Sorry no small furries or cats

The beautiful Miss Maya is being fostered in Hertfordshire. A few words from her foster family: “She is the most gentle and kind dog you would ever wish to meet, whose tail never stops wagging! Maya has been on a trip to see the ducks, and then went to the pet shop. Maya was very good and even found some treats..She was a bit puzzled when she saw her reflection in the mirror but soon realised it was not her twin..or is it just a girl thing!”
She came to us from the same Killing Station as Nando and Wendy – we are always full and the volunteers asked us to help – and we did not have the space. But they made one last plea – she had overstayed and they needed her kennel for dogs arriving on Monday…..so what could we do. We decided to squeeze her in. Look at those eyes – how can we not try and give this dog a chance at a loved life.
Maya is approx 5 years old, she is sweet – a long legged jack russell cross – good with people and dogs. Can she be the dog for you?
Vaccinated, neutered & chipped.
Children: age 10 +
Sorry no small furries.

Keryas was found by a spanish volunteer – he was near death abandoned on a dump site & tied by blue string to a concrete block. This dog was abandoned to die – tied to the rock – it was obviously sick and had puncture wounds from dog bites. He was so weak he could barely lift his head.
She brought him straight to the vet but as she has 28 dogs she is trying to rehome she could not afford to help him – so she contacted Terrier SOS. We are in a fortunate position and have wonderful supporters and we have the ability to cover the costs for this very unfortunate boy. At the vet’s he had several blood transfusions, he was very sick and the vet was not sure if he would make it.. But in true terrier style he pulled through – but he was ill – he had Heartworm (has been treated), Erlichia (A parasite spread by ticks) also treated. He also has a verruca on his lip and that will be removed when he is neutered.
He took a long time to get healthy – he was on special food and will need to be monitored – as he was severely anaemic. He should be ok to travel in the next few weeks – he is still in Spain with his foster.
He is young, dog friendly and very timid. Understandingly he is a bit afraid of people and the big outdoors – he is gaining in strength and confidence and will become a wonderful companion – he will need a patient and quiet home to get adjusted to his new life.
Hhe will be neutered, fully vaccinated & microchipped.
coat: white black & tan

Here is one we squeezed in earlier….we have a wonderful foster in Spain and she takes quite a few dogs for us – but only for us – and it is known that she helps dogs…so…..rather than ask or find a loving home, someone has thrown this little dog over the wall. Yes, barely 3 months old and they threw her over a 6 foot wall – not surprisingly she was hurt and in a panic ran under the parked car. She had a lot of interest from our Terrier SOS dogs – and they alerted out foster. It took the good part of a day to get her from under the car – she was frozen in fear. She was limping and had a few scrapes and bruises – but thankfully no breaks or injuries – she has made a full recovery and is slowly finding her paws. She is called Pulguita and is about 3 months old – she has now become a Terrier SOS dog. She had been reserved for a family and has now arrived in the UK.
Unfortunately, due to sad & unforeseen circumstances, the family can not take Pulguita renamed Ivy.
She is now 12-18 months, fully vaccinated & microchipped, not yet neutered. She is friendly and loving and we urgently looking for a foster or adoptive family for her. Can you help?

coat: white black & tan
